In Salido, Modifiers are defined and customized within Modifier Groups, which help streamline order accuracy and timeliness by allowing staff to quickly adjust the order to the customer by grouping similar modifiers together.
Modifier Groups are created in the Salido Bridge and can be tailor-made to fit your organization's unique needs. They can be nested and re-used across the entire menu.
Important to note: Even if you're creating a single modifier, it will still need to be defined within a Modifier Group.
To Create a New Modifier Group:
1. Navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and select Modifier Groups
2. Click + New Modifier Group to bring up the feature for creating a New Modifier Group
3. Configure your New Modifier Group
The Modifier Group Name is a required field for naming the group and cannot be blank.
The Description field is self-explanatory and used to describe the Modifier Group.
Min Selection(s) denotes this Modifier Group's minimum requirement of nested options. For example, if you offer a salad with two proteins, the Min Selection(s) field would be set to (2), and the server could not progress through the order in the POS until the second protein choice is fulfilled.
Max Selections(s) denotes this Modifier Group's maximum limit of nested options. For example, in the situation above, the server cannot add a third protein to the order after the customer chooses two proteins for their salad if the Max Selection(s) is set to (2).
4. Choose the option for printing the Modifier Group name on the check by sliding the toggle switch to the right and filling out the Custom Print Name field
5. Choose whether or not you want to Allow Duplicate Selections by sliding the toggle switch left or right
By default, an option can only be added once. When “Allow Duplicate Selections“ is enabled for a modifier group in the Bridge, a numeric stepper is used in the POS to select a modifier option more than once, e.g., adding multiple cheese slices to a hamburger.
