The Menu Item Short Name feature enables you to assign an alternative, shorter name to menu items within the Bridge. This optional short name will then print on kitchen receipts instead of the full item name, helping to improve readability and save space for kitchen staff.

• Configurable in Bridge: Set a unique "short name" for any menu item using the dedicated field in its configuration settings within the Bridge.
• Improves Kitchen Receipts: When a short name is defined, it automatically replaces the standard menu item name exclusively on printed kitchen receipts.

To Set a Short Name for a Menu Item:

1. If you have just created a new menu item and are already on the edit screen, skip to Step 3. Otherwise, navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and select Items

1. Navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and select Items

2. Find the Menu Item to add a Short Name to by using the search bar or list view, and click the row to open the configuration panel

3. Enter the desired Short Name in the Short Name field

4. Click Save to keep your changes

The Short Name for this menu item will now display on the Kitchen Receipt instead of the Menu Item Name when it is sent from the POS
