The Ingredients section allows for the input of fundamental, raw components utilized in constructing menu items, a-la-carte options, and modifiers. There are two methods for incorporating ingredients into the Bridge: individual entry or Bulk Upload.
To perform a Bulk Ingredient import, refer to the article, Utilities - Bulk Imports
To Add Ingredients in the Bridge
1. Navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and click Ingredients
2. Click + New Ingredient to bring up the ingredient entry form
3. Fill out the optional and required fields in the form:
- Enter the required Name of the ingredient, e.g., "butter"
- Fill in the optional Description field for the ingredient, e.g., "land-o-lakes butter"
- Enter an optional Price for the ingredient
- Enter an optional Cost for the ingredient that can be used for reporting and revenue reporting
- Enter the Minimum and Maximum Calorie count for the ingredient
4. Select the Unit of measurement for the new ingredient by selecting it from the Unit drop-down menu
If the correct unit cannot be found in the list, scroll to the bottom of the menu and either Edit or Add a New Unit Value.
5. To add the new ingredient to an Ingredient Group, scroll through the list of ingredient groups and select the group(s) to which the new ingredient will belong
"Ingredient Groups" are collections of related Ingredients. These can be added to Modifiers to expedite the order customization process.
If the correct Ingredient Group doesn't exist, scroll to the bottom of the list and click +New Ingredient Group

Enter the Name, select the ingredients that will be in the group, then click Save
6. To enable Variants for the new ingredient, check the box, and a Variant drop-down menu will appear above
Variants refer to menu items or ingredients available in different forms, such as sizes (e.g., small, medium, large pizza), styles (e.g., wrap, salad, sandwich), or quantities (e.g., single scoop, double scoop for ice cream; half dozen or full dozen for oysters).
7. Select the desired Variant Size from the drop-down menu
If the correct variant option cannot be found in the list, scroll to the bottom of the menu and either Edit or Add a New Variant Option.
8. Click Save to keep your changes
