The Kitchen Name and POS Name fields let you assign alternative names to a menu item for different contexts. Kitchen Name prints in place of the item name on kitchen chits, helping kitchen staff scan tickets faster. POS Name displays in place of the item name on menu item buttons and the order screen in the POS, including webPOS, so staff can quickly identify items without the full item name taking up space. Both fields apply uniformly across every variant of the item, accept up to 30 characters, and fall back to the item's full name when left blank.

• Configurable in Bridge: Set a unique Kitchen Name and POS Name for any menu item in its configuration settings.
• Improves Kitchen Chits: When a Kitchen Name is defined, it replaces the item name exclusively on printed kitchen chits.
• Improves POS Scannability: When a POS Name is defined, it replaces the item name on menu buttons and the order screen in the POS, with the variant name still appended where applicable (e.g., size).
• Available in Bulk Uploads: Both fields are included as columns in the menu item uploader template, so they can be set or edited in bulk.

To Set a Kitchen Name and POS Name for a Menu Item:

1. Navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and select Items

2. Find the menu item to add names to by using the search bar or list view, and click the row to open the configuration panel

3. Enter the desired Kitchen Name

4. Enter the desired POS Name

5. Click Save

Once saved, the Kitchen Name prints in place of the item name on kitchen chits, and the POS Name displays in place of the item name on menu buttons and the order screen in the POS.
