The Salido Handheld POS lets you apply item-level discounts directly at the table using either Promo Codes or Standard Discounts. This is a quick way to manage promotions and resolve guest issues on the spot.
This feature allows you to:
- Apply discounts to individual items on a check without affecting the rest of the order.
- Provide immediate service recovery or apply promotions instantly, right at the guest's table.
To Discount an Item on a Check on the Handheld POS Using a Promo Code:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Create a New Check or open an existing one to discount:
- From the Floor Plan view: Tap the table corresponding to the check. If there are multiple checks at the table, tap the table to bring up the open check list for that table, and select the check you want to open
- From the Checks List view: Tap the check you wish to open from the list of all available checks
3. Add the desired menu item to the check, then Tap and Hold the menu item to bring up the options panel
4. Tap Discount
5. Enter the Promo Code and tap the button on the on-screen keyboard
6. Based on the assigned Discount Type, follow the corresponding procedure for the Promo Code:
- If the discount is a Fixed Amount or Fixed Percentage, tap the desired Reason for the discount
- If the discount is an Open Amount or Open Percentage, select the Discount Reason from the drop-down, enter the Discount Amount, and tap Apply
7. Tap Save
8. Verify the correct discount in the check details panel
To Discount an Item on a Check Using the List of Standard Discounts:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Create a New Check or open an existing one to transfer:
- From the Floor Plan view: Tap the table corresponding to the check. If there are multiple checks at the table, tap the table to bring up the open check list for that table, and select the check you want to open
- From the Checks List view: Tap the check you wish to open from the list of all available checks
3. Add the desired menu item to the check, then Tap and Hold the menu item to bring up the options panel
4. Tap Discount
5. Tap Apply to apply the desired discount to the check
6. Based on the assigned Discount Type, follow the corresponding procedure for the Promo Code:
- If the discount is a Fixed Amount or Fixed Percentage, tap the desired Reason for the discount
- If the discount is an Open Amount or Open Percentage, select the Discount Reason from the drop-down, enter the Discount Amount, and tap Apply
7. Tap Save
8. Verify the correct discount in the check details panel
