The Salido Handheld POS enables precise, on-the-spot order customization through Special Commands for menu item modifiers. This feature lets your staff add specific instructions like 'Extra,' 'Light,' 'No,' and 'Heavy' directly to ingredients and modifiers while taking an order tableside. Using these commands is key to capturing every detail of a guest's request accurately.
This feature helps your team:
- Communicate specific guest preferences to the kitchen, such as "No Onions" or "Extra Pickles," directly from the handheld device.
- Increase service speed and reduce kitchen errors by ensuring orders are prepared correctly the first time, resulting in higher guest satisfaction.
To Add Special Commands to Menu Item Modifiers on the Handheld POS:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Create a New Check or open an existing one to transfer:
- From the Floor Plan view: Tap the table corresponding to the check. If there are multiple checks at the table, tap the table to bring up the open check list for that table, and select the check you want to open
- From the Checks List view: Tap the check you wish to open from the list of all available checks
3. Tap the desired Menu Item(s) to add to the check and bring up the Modifier options
4. Tap the commands button at the top right of the screen to bring up the special modifier command palette
5. To apply the command to a specific modifier, tap the command, then tap the modifier to which it applies
The modifier will now be labeled with the command, allowing staff to adjust the order correctly.
6. Repeat Step 5 for any remaining modifiers, then tap Done
- The newly added modifier(s) and their associated cost(s), if any, will now be visible in the order details panel.
