In Salido, the ability to delete or void items on a check depends on whether the item has been sent. Items that have not yet been sent to the kitchen or bar—meaning the order hasn't been finalized—can be deleted directly by the user. Deleting is often used to correct a mistake where an item was added to the check erroneously.
Once an item has been sent, it cannot be deleted; it must be voided. Voiding an item requires a valid Void Reason, which Salido utilizes to keep a detailed record for reporting purposes. These Void Reasons provide insights into operational aspects such as service errors or customer satisfaction issues.
- Deleting Items: This can only be done if the item has yet to be sent; this action leaves no trace in reporting since it's treated as if the item was never placed.
- Voiding Items: This is required for items sent and tracked with Void Reasons for accurate reporting on void activity.
