Salido allows servers to indefinitely hold menu items or schedule them to be sent at a later time, providing greater control over kitchen workflow. Indefinite holds prevent an item from being sent to the kitchen until manually released, while scheduled sends allow an item to be sent automatically after a set time.
- Indefinite Hold: Allows menu items to be placed on hold indefinitely, preventing them from being sent to the kitchen until manually released.
- Scheduled Sends: Schedule menu items for future delivery and adjust the send time as needed.
Note:
- Auto-Logout Behavior: Auto-logout will always send non-held, non-scheduled items, but held and scheduled items remain exempt.
- Held Items & Payments: Users may discount, adjust, and pay for items placed on hold, but they must remove held items before closing the check.
- Force Closing Checks: When you force-close a check, the system removes paid, held, or scheduled items.
To Schedule a Menu Item to Send to its Prep Station:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Open an existing or create a new check and add the desired menu items to it
3. Tap and hold the menu item to be Scheduled to bring up the check options
4. Tap the Schedule button
5. Enter the send time for the scheduled item and then tap Confirm Schedule
- Once scheduled, the menu item displays a countdown, which tells the server the send time.
- To edit the scheduled send time, repeat steps 3 - 5 above.
To Indefinitely Hold a Menu Item:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Open an existing or create a new check and add the desired menu items to it
3. Tap and hold the menu item you want to hold
4. Tap Hold to hold the menu item indefinitely
The menu item will remain held indefinitely until the user taps the release button.
An indefinitely held item will appear in the menu item list, checks list, and the floor plan view with an orange triangle in the upper left corner.
To Release an Item from an Indefinite Hold:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen, enter your PIN and tap OK
2. Find the check with the indefinitely held item by locating it in the Checks list view or the Floor plan and tapping that check
An indefinitely held item will appear in the checks list and floor plan view with an orange triangle in the upper left corner.
3. Tap and hold the held item to bring up the check options
Inside the check, the item will have an orange triangle in the upper left-hand corner.
4. Tap Release to release the indefinite hold on the menu item
5. Tap Send to send the menu item to its prep station
