Configuring how employee tips are paid out at the end of each shift allows restaurants to tailor tip management to fit their business model. With Salido, you can either pay out tips in cash at the end of the day or handle tip distribution through payroll. This flexibility helps ensure smooth operations for both cash-heavy establishments and those who prefer centralized payroll processing.
- End-of-Day Tip Payout: This option displays a Tip Out section in the employee shift report and End-of-Day Z-Report, indicating how much each employee should be paid in cash at the end of their shift.
- Payroll Tip Payout: This option omits the Tip Out section from reports, as tips will be included in the employee's regular payroll.
- To adjust these settings, proper Bridge permissions must be set up prior to making changes.
- Tip Payout options are typically configured when your Location is initially set up.
To Configure the Tip Payout Options in the Bridge:
1. Navigate to the Business Units menu within the Bridge and select Locations from the drop-down menu
2. Click the Location you wish to edit to bring up the Edit Location menu
3. Locate the Tip Out Policy drop-down menu and choose EOD or Payroll
4. Click Save in the bottom right to apply your changes
