The Price Level Evaluation setting lets you specify the timestamp to apply time-sensitive pricing rules, such as Happy Hour or Lunch Specials. While Salido defaults to locking pricing based on the time a check is created, this configuration offers the flexibility to evaluate pricing based on the exact time an item is added to the order. This feature allows you to:
Ensure pricing accuracy for time-based promotions by calculating price levels at the moment of item entry, regardless of when the guest was seated.
Customize the pricing evaluation logic for individual Locations within your organization.
To Configure Price Level Timing:
1. Navigate to Business Units and select Locations
2. Open the Location you wish to edit by clicking on it in the list
3. Choose the setting in the Evaluate Price Levels Timing based on
Check created (default): When this option is selected, the system locks in the pricing based on the specific time the check was opened. For example, suppose a guest is seated at 3:45 PM during a Lunch service that ends at 4:00 PM. In that case, they will continue to receive Lunch pricing for the duration of their meal, even if they order additional items after the transition to Dinner pricing. This ensures the guest is charged the prices displayed on the menu they received upon arrival.
Item added: When this option is selected, the system evaluates pricing at the exact moment an item is added to the check. Using the example above, if a check is opened at 3:45 PM but an item is added at 4:05 PM (after the switch to Dinner service), that specific item will reflect Dinner pricing.
