Salido offers more than just its native credit card processor, Electronic Payment Exchange (EPX), as customers are more likely to pay faster and sooner if they have more options. This is why Salido provides the ability to create multiple payment methods within the Bridge. Custom payment types are also convenient for House Charge Accounts, Direct Bill Accounts, non-integrated Gift Cards, and non-integrated third-party platforms.
In Salido there is no need to set up Cash as a Payment Method since it comes pre-loaded as a native Payment Method out of the box.
To create a new Custom Payment Method:
1. Navigate to the Settings > Payments section in the Bridge and select Payment Methods
2. Scroll down to Other payment methods and click + Add
3. Enter the Name for the new custom payment method, e.g., "Handwritten Gift Cards"
4. To enable the payment method, tick the Is Enabled box
5. To make the payment method tippable, tick the Tippable box
6. To allow employees to issue change or allow overpayment after accepting this payment, tick the Allow Overpayment/Change box
Understanding the 'Allow Overpayment/Change' Setting:
Checking this box changes how the payment method functions on the POS. When enabled, this setting allows a cashier to accept an amount greater than the check total and will calculate the change due back to the customer, similar to a cash transaction. If left unchecked, the payment method will function as an exact-amount tender type, where only the precise balance due can be applied.
7. Click Save & Next to save your new Payment Method
8. Configure the Location Override settings for the new Payment Method by selecting the appropriate Revenue Centers and Locations where it will be active, then click Save
