The EDGE Program allows merchants to pass credit card processing fees to cardholders while providing a small discount to customers who pay in cash. This allows businesses to maintain consistent profit margins regardless of payment method. When setting up a cash discount in the Bridge, the percentage rate defaults to the Edge Program rate, but non-Edge merchants can enter a custom percentage to suit their needs.
- Set up and customize a cash discount to apply automatically for customers paying with cash.
- Adjust the percentage rate for flexibility if not enrolled in the Edge Program.

To Set Up a Cash Discount in the Bridge:
1. Navigate to the Settings > Payments section within the Bridge and select Cash Discounts: Edge
2. Click + New Cash Discount to set up the new Cash Discount
Cash Discounts apply to an entire location, so there is no need to name them
3. Select the Location from the drop-down menu to apply the Cash Discount
4. Enter the amount of the discount as a percent. For example, to apply a 3% Cash Discount to this entire location, enter a 3 in the Percent block
For Edge customers, the default rate of 3.8461 has been applied, so you can skip this step.
5. To enable this Cash Discount, turn on the Is Enabled toggle
If a Cash Discount is enabled, all customer checks at this location will print with a notice clearly indicating that the price paid with a credit card includes the percentage while the price paid with cash excludes the percentage.
6. Click Save to keep your changes
7. Cash Discounts can be toggled On or Off for each location by clicking the row of the discount you want to Enable/Disable, and moving the toggle switch
