Gain precise control over your restaurant's promotions by assigning specific discounts to different POS Roles in the Bridge. Instead of granting all-or-nothing access, the Manage Check Discounts permission allows you to select exactly which standard discounts are available to each role. This ensures that your staff only have access to the promotions appropriate for their position.
This feature allows you to:
- Build a custom set of accessible discounts for any POS Role by selecting them individually from a complete list of your standard discounts.
- Create different tiers of discount access, such as allowing a 'Manager' role to use high-value comps while restricting a 'Server' role to only specific, pre-approved promotions.
To Assign Specific Discounts to a POS Role in the Bridge:
1. Navigate to the Staff section of the Bridge and select POS Roles
2. Click + New POS Role to create a New POS Role and return to this step after doing so, or click on an existing role to edit it
3. Click Edit in the bottom right
4. Scroll down to Manage Check Discounts and click the gear icon
5. Select the discount configuration:
A. To Grant Universal Access: Enable the Manage all existing and future discounts toggle. This will give the POS Role permission to use every available discount, including any new ones created in the future
B. To Assign Specific Discounts: Ensure the main toggle is off, and then individually check the box next to each discount you want this POS Role to be able to use. You can also use the Select All link to enable every discount in the list quickly
6. Tap Done to keep your choices
7. Configure the permission for approval:
- Grant Permission: Check this box to enable the permission for this role. Users with this role will be able to perform the action on the POS without needing a manager's approval (unless 'Require Approval' is also selected)
- Require Approval: After checking 'Grant Permission,' check this box to add a layer of security. When a user with this role attempts this action on the POS, a manager will be prompted to approve it with their PIN or swipe card before it can be completed
- Can Approve Others: Check this box to give users with this role the authority to approve this action for other employees. This role is designated as an approver and can use their PIN or swipe card to override a 'Require Approval' prompt
8. Click Save to keep your changes to the POS Role
