Archiving employees in the Bridge allows organizations to streamline their workforce management by keeping employee lists up to date without permanently deleting historical data. This functionality ensures that archived employees cannot log in to the POS or perform actions, but their past activities and check history remain intact for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Easily switch between active and archived employee views in the Bridge to manage your workforce efficiently.
- Restore archived employees when needed, allowing flexibility in employee management.
Important: Employees cannot be archived if they have an open shift. To successfully archive an employee, you must ensure the following:
- Open Shift: The employee must be clocked out, and any open checks or shifts must be resolved through the End of Day (EOD) dashboard in the POS or managed in the Bridge.
To Archive an Employee:
1. Navigate to the Staff section of the Bridge and select Employees
2. Find the employee to archive in the list or use the search bar to narrow your results
3. Open the employee's profile by clicking the appropriate row
4. Click the Archive button
5. Confirm the employee archive by clicking Archive on the confirmation modal
If the employee is currently clocked in on an active shift, you will see the following error:

To Unarchive an Employee:
1. Navigate to the Staff section of the Bridge and select Employees
2. Click the Archive button to bring up the list of archived employees
3. Open the archived employee's profile by clicking the appropriate row
4. Click the Unarchive button in the bottom left

Note: When an employee is archived, their active job positions are removed. After an employee is unarchived, they must be reassigned a job position before they can clock in.
