POS Roles in your organization define the level of interaction employees have with their terminals, setting permissions for access to various POS features.
Some of these permissions can have further refined controls through advanced settings, allowing you to specify which payment types an employee in a given role can access.
- Perform Pay In: This permission might be limited to specific payment types in the advanced settings. For instance, a role could be configured to allow Pay Ins only through cash but not credit cards.
- Void Pay In/Out: Employees with this permission could be restricted in the advanced settings to voiding transactions only of certain payment types, adding an extra layer of control and security.
- Perform Tip Out: Advanced settings could determine which payment types can be used for tip-outs, ensuring that the process aligns with internal accounting practices.
- Accept Check Payment: This permission allows processing payment for guest checks. Advanced settings can specify transaction types each role can handle, like restricting certain employees to only accept cash or card payments.
These advanced settings ensure that employees operate within their designated roles and responsibilities, enhancing the security and efficiency of payment processes within your POS system.
The head of your organization should tightly control the ability to adjust these permissions.
