Modifier Groups communicate preparation instructions or customer additions to the kitchen, such as Extra Cheese or Medium Rare. In the Salido Bridge, these groups are associated with either a specific Menu Item or an entire Category to ensure they appear correctly on the POS. By assigning modifier groups at the category level, administrators can utilize Modifier Inheritance to automatically apply the same preparation options to all associated items, significantly reducing manual configuration time.
This feature allows you to:
- Assign Modifier Groups to a Category for bulk inheritance across multiple items.
- Configure Custom modifier groups for individual Menu Items that require unique preparation steps.
- Define Default modifiers and set the display order for a streamlined server experience on the POS.
Understanding Modifier Association Methods
Before configuring associations, determine the best method for your menu structure:
- Category Level (Inheritance): Best for groups that apply to every item in a category (e.g., "Temperature" for all Steaks).
- Item Level (Custom): Best for modifiers unique to a single item (e.g., "Add Avocado" specifically for one sandwich).
