The Bridge is designed to optimize data management, especially when dealing with extensive lists that influence reporting and customer service. To facilitate this, the Utilities Menu features the Bulk Import and Export functions.
With these tools, managers and business owners can Bulk Export the extensive lists of menu items, ingredients, employees, and printers to Google Sheets to make modifications. Once these changes are complete, the updated data can be easily imported back into Salido using the Bulk Import function.
Although the Utility section is the main location for Bulk Imports, there are multiple sections of the Bridge that offer the Bulk Imports feature: Employees, Ingredients, Menu Items, and Printers.
To Conduct a Bulk Import from the Utilities Menu:
1. Navigate to Settings > Utilities in the Bridge and select Bulk Imports
2. Select the import Job Type from the drop-down menu and click Bulk (type) Upload
3. If you do not already have a .csv with the items listed, click the button to be directed to a Google Drive file where you can make a formatted copy. If you already have a correctly formatted .csv, proceed to Step 5
4. Select which will open your organization's private copy of the spreadsheet
5. Edit and fill out your data to prepare it for bulk import, e.g. Printers
6. Save the changes you made to the file
7. Return to the Bulk Import menu in the Bridge and select the correct Job Type button to begin the import process
Note: Bulk Import will overwrite your current data.
8. Selecting the upload button will open a file explorer. Navigate to the location where the file was saved and select the correct file, e.g., printer.csv
9. Open the file to import it into the Bridge
When the file has been successfully imported, you will see the status message displayed in the Uploads notification window saying, Finished Success.
If the Bulk Printer upload is unsuccessful, you will see the status message Finished Failure with the error message(s) available for viewing by clicking the drop-down menu under View Details
