7. Select which will open your organization's private copy of the spreadsheet template
8. Edit and fill out your Employee data to prepare them for bulk import
Note: the "import_id," "First_name." and "last_name" columns are required and must be filled out for a successful import. All other columns are optional.
Using a unique string as the import_id for employees is required to maintain accuracy in employee data. Because many employees may have the same name, they need to be accurately identified in your organization's database. Without a unique import_id, different employees with the same name could be incorrectly attributed to one another. This can lead to errors and confusion and be time-consuming to fix.
Salido lets you use any unique string, meaning you can number employees 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on.
For organizations with large numbers of employees, numbering them consecutively may be more challenging. However, you can generate your unique import_id strings using this free Random ID Generator.
9. Save the changes you made to the file
10. Return to the Bulk Import menu in the Bridge and select the button to begin the import process
Note: Bulk Import will overwrite your current data.
11. Selecting the upload button will open a file explorer. Navigate to the location where the file was saved and select the correct file, e.g., employees.csv
12. Open the file to import it into the Bridge
When the file has been successfully imported, you will see the status message displayed in the Uploads notification window saying, "Finished Success."
If the Bulk Upload is unsuccessful, you will see the status message "Finished Failure," with the error message displayed to the right.
