The Bulk Import and Export functions in the Bridge use Google Sheets in Comma Separated Values (.csv) format. These spreadsheets are tailored for your Organization's data, streamlining modifications to lengthy lists like employee rosters, menu items, and ingredients.
You can easily make these changes and then upload the updated file back into the Bridge. The following instructions focus on editing the .csv file after exporting it from the Bridge and saving it to your computer.

Opening and editing the .csv file:
1. Open Google Sheets on your computer by navigating to sheets.google.com and signing in to your Google account
2. Click on the "File" menu and select "Open" or "Open a File" to open the file picker window
3. Click on the Upload button in the file picker window
4. Navigate to the folder on your computer where the .csv file is located and select it
5. Click on the "Open" button to upload the .csv file to Google Sheets and open it in a new tab
6. Once the file is open, you can edit and work with the data as needed
7. To save the changes you made to the .csv file, click on the "File" menu and select "Download" "Comma-separated values"
8. Save the file to your computer
You can now use the Bulk Imports function in the Bridge to upload your new or updated data.
Note: Bulk Import will overwrite your current data.
Downloading and populating the .csv template from the Bridge
1. Navigate to Settings > Utilities in the Bridge and select Bulk Imports
2. Select the import Job Type from the drop-down menu and click Bulk (type) Upload
For the example below, we will use the ingredient template.
3. Click the button to open the Google Sheets .csv in a new tab
4. Click onto automatically open the file in the same tab
The .csv file will be formatted for importing your data into the bridge.
5. Populate the Google Sheet rows according to the column headers (some fields may be required).
You will receive a warning if the value entered in a field is not in the correct format, e.g., alpha versus numeric.
6. To save the changes you made to the .csv file, click on the "File" menu and select "Download" "Comma-separated values"
8. Save the file to your computer
You can now use the Bulk Imports function in the Bridge to upload your new or updated data.
Note: Bulk Import will overwrite your current data.
