If your business has numerous printers, Salido has a Bulk Import function to make your job much easier. Using the built-in utilities, you can make bulk changes or additions to your printer list and quickly upload it back into the Bridge. Below are the instructions for importing various printers at once using the Bulk Import function.
To Bulk Upload Printers into Salido:
1. In the Bridge, navigate to Settings > Devices, and then click Printers
2. Click Bulk Printer Upload which will automatically direct you to the Bulk Imports section of the Utilities Menu
Alternatively, the Bulk Upload function can be accessed by navigating to Settings > Utilities menu, selecting Bulk Imports, and choosing Printer from the Job Type drop-down menu
For a first-time import of Printers, skip to Step 6; otherwise, proceed to the next step.
3. To make changes to your existing Printer list, select Bulk Export from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen
4. Confirm the Job Type is displaying "Printer" and click Bulk Export Printer to download your list
5. Navigate to the folder where the file was saved, open it, and skip to Step 8
6. To enter new printer data into the pre-formatted spreadsheet, click Open Printer Google Sheet, and the Bridge user will be redirected to a Google Sheets document that has been formatted for import into Salido
7. Click Make a copy which will open your organization's private copy of the spreadsheet template
8. Edit and fill out your Printer data to prepare it for bulk import
Note: the "location_name," "name," "make," "model," and "serial" columns are required fields and must be filled out for a successful import. "ip_addr," "mac_addr," and "backup_name" are optional and can be updated or changed at a later date.
9. Save the changes you made to the file
10. Return to the Bulk Import menu in the Bridge and click Bulk Printer Upload to begin the import process
Note: Bulk Import will overwrite your current data.
11. Selecting the upload button will open a file explorer. Navigate to the location where the file was saved and select the correct file, e.g., printer.csv
12. Open the file to import it into the Bridge
When the file has been successfully imported, you will see the status message displayed in the Uploads notification window saying, Finished Success.
If the Bulk Printer upload is unsuccessful, you will see the status message Finished Failure with the error message(s) available for viewing by clicking the drop-down menu under View Details
