"Menu Screens" in Salido permit restaurants to customize their POS menu appearance:
- Enhances staff efficiency and user experience by tailoring menu organization on POS terminals.
- The Bridge's user-friendly setup enables effective customization of the menu display to meet the specific needs of your restaurant and staff.
If restaurant owners choose not to create menu screens, the menu will display per the default settings in the POS.
To Set Up a New Menu Screen:
1. Navigate to the Menu section in the Bridge and select Menus
2. Click + New Menu Screen to bring up the New Menu Screen settings
3. Configure the Menu Screen:
- Enter the Name for the Menu Screen
- Add a Description if desired
- Enter the Row Count to tell the POS how many rows of Display Group buttons to show
- Tick the Combine Variants box to combine menu items with variants into a single button
The Combine Variants option helps organize your menu screen more efficiently in the POS by condensing multiple buttons into a single one. This allows the user to select the variant option with a second tap. See below for an example:
4. Click + Add Display Group Button(s) to choose the appropriate Display Groups to add to the POS View
5. Select the appropriate groups for the POS View and click Done
If you need to adjust the Row Count to accommodate the number of Display Groups, you can scroll back up at any time and change it to fit the parameters of your Menu Screen.
6. After adding all the Display Groups, you can customize their placement by clicking on the individual group and dragging it to the desired position
To remove a Display Group from this view, drag it all the way off of the pallet until a trash can icon appears, then let go.
7. To assign colors or remove multiple Display Groups, click Select Mode. Here, you can select each Display Group by ticking its selection box to make color changes or "Hide" the group from the POS View
To return to the previous screen and add more Display Groups or rearrange the POS buttons, click Drag Mode.
8. Once the desired Display Groups have been assigned a color and added to the POS View, it's time to select the individual Menu Items to display in the POS from each group:
Note: The + Add Menu Item Button(s) button does not appear if all menu items associated with the selected Display Group are already included in the view.
- To create buttons for the individual items, click the Display Group to work on, then scroll down and click + Add Menu Item Button(s)
9. Select the Menu Items to create buttons for them in the POS, and then click Done
10. Menu Item buttons can now be customized by clicking the Select Mode button and choosing a color
- Select each Menu Item by ticking its selection box to make color changes, or "Hide" the items from the POS View
- The items can also be added to the Favorites screen by selecting which items you want to add and clicking on "Favorite"
To return to the previous screen and add more Menu Items or rearrange the POS buttons, click Drag Mode.
11. Repeat this process for every Display Group you added to the Menu Screen until all Menu Items have been assigned their proper color and placement
12. Click Save to save your Menu Screen
To Edit an existing Menu Screen:
1. While in the Menus section in the Bridge, click the row of the Menu Screen you wish to edit
2. Repeat Steps 3 through 12 from creating a New Menu above
To Clone an Existing Menu Screen:
1. While in the Menus section in the Bridge, select the screen you want to clone, click the three dots icon (⋮) next to it, and select Clone
The cloned Menu Screen will have all the same settings as its source menu screen, but the name will note that it is a clone.
2. To make changes to the Cloned Menu Screen, repeat steps 3 through 12 from creating a New Menu above
