You can easily share customized views of any report in the Bridge with other team members simply by copying and sharing the link in your browser's address bar. When you make changes to a report, the browser link automatically updates to reflect your exact settings. Copying and sharing this link allows other users to view your exact layout, columns, date ranges, and selected locations instantly.
This capability allows you to:
- Share custom report views with other team members without the need to save new views.
- Replicate matching columns, date ranges, location filters, and data groupings using copied links.
- Troubleshoot reporting questions with exact matching views to resolve issues quickly.
Critical Prerequisite — Remember Me Login Option:
- To open a shared report link, the recipient must have the Remember Me checkbox selected on their Bridge login screen, or have an active browser session. If a recipient opens the link without an active session or without Remember Me enabled, the browser redirects to the standard login screen and discards the shared report settings.
To Customize a Report for Sharing:
1. Navigate to the Reports section of the Bridge and click on the category of the report you want to run (such as Sales, Labor, Payments, Tax, or Discounts & Fees)
2. Use the Select Location drop-down menu to select one or more locations by ticking the checkboxes next to their names
3. Use the Date Range drop-down menu to select a predefined range (such as Yesterday, Last Month) or enter a custom date range
4. Customize your layout by searching or filtering the grid, adding or removing columns using the Columns tray, dragging columns to your desired position, and grouping fields using Row Groups. The browser link automatically adapts to your configured view. For detailed instruction on How to Customize a Report, click here.
To Copy and Share the Report Link:
1. Highlight and copy the complete link from your browser's address bar.
2. Share the copied link with another authorized Bridge user via email, messaging, or other communication tools.
Troubleshooting Shared Link Errors:
If a team member encounters an error after loading a shared link, review the following scenarios:
-
Different Brand Selected:
If the recipient is logged into a different brand than the one used to generate the report link, the following message appears:You are attempting to view a report for an organization that is different than the one you have selected. Please select the correct organization and then try again.
To resolve this, the recipient must switch to the correct organization in their Bridge header before opening the link again. -
Missing Permissions or Location Access:
If the recipient does not have access permissions for that specific report or is restricted from accessing the chosen locations, the following message appears:NO ACCESS: Check Permissions for this report: [permission.key] and Available Locations
To resolve this, an administrator must update the recipient's Bridge Role to grant access to the required report and locations.
Interactive Deep Navigation:
Some reports in the Bridge support interactive deep navigation. For example, in the Payment Summary report, transaction values and payment names appear as underlined, clickable links. Clicking an underlined payment name opens a detailed breakdown corresponding to that specific item. You can customize, save, and share these deep-dive report views using the same link sharing process.
Feature Examples:
- An operations manager configures the Payment Summary report with specific location groupings, a custom thirty-day date range, and custom columns. They copy the browser link and send it to their accountant. Because the accountant has the Remember Me option enabled on their login, clicking the link immediately loads the identical report layout, columns, and figures for reconciliation.
