Streamline your service workflow by customizing what happens on a POS terminal immediately after a server sends an order. The Send Items Action setting, located in Hardware > Terminals, allows you to define the default next step for your staff. This configuration helps tailor the POS behavior to match the specific needs of different service areas, such as a busy bar versus a traditional dining room.
This setting allows you to:
- Tailor the POS workflow for different service environments by choosing from three distinct actions: Send and Stay, Send and Back to Default View, or Send and Logout.
- Increase the speed of service for high-volume terminals or enhance security by automatically logging a user out after an order is sent.
To Configure the "Send Items Action" for POS Terminals:
1. In the Bridge, navigate to Settings > Devices, and then click Terminals
2. Select the appropriate Location from the drop-down menu to view the terminals at this location
3. Use the search bar or scroll through the list to locate the specific terminal
If a terminal has not been created yet, please follow the instructions for creating a new terminal at this link.
4. Click on the terminal you wish to configure
5. Under Settings, click the drop-down menu for Send Items Action to select your preferred option
- Send and Stay (Default): The user remains on the current check screen, ideal for adding more items or proceeding directly to payment.
- Send and Back to Default View: The user is returned to their default start screen (e.g., Floor Plan), which is best for high-volume environments.
- Send and Logout: The user is immediately logged out and the POS returns to the PIN screen, providing the most secure option for high-traffic areas.
6. Click Save to apply your changes
