Running End of Day (EOD) manually in the POS offers flexibility and control over your daily operations. Here are a couple of benefits:
- Flexibility: Managers can choose the exact moment to close out the day's transactions.
- Control: Ensures all end-of-day tasks are completed accurately and at a convenient time.
To Run EOD in the POS:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen for inactivity, enter your PIN and tap to log back into the POS device
2. At the top right of the POS screen, tap to bring up the POS options
3. Tap End of Day to open the EOD interface
Before running a manual End of Day (EOD), ensure that all employees are clocked out, all checks are closed, and all cash banks are reconciled and closed. This can be done from within the EOD interface by tapping the "Force Close All" button for checks and banks, and the "Clock Out All" button for employees.
WARNING:
- Forcibly clocking out employees will end their shifts immediately.
- Ensure all payments have been applied to all checks before force closing them, as this could lead to accounting errors.
- Ensure all cash banks are reconciled before force closing them, as this could also lead to accounting errors.
4. The End Day button will be illuminated once all transactions have been closed and employees clocked out. Tap the End Day button to run EOD
5. Upon successful completion of the EOD process, the user will be brought back out to the login screen
