The Salido integration with QuickBooks Online provides restaurant operators with automated daily financial synchronization and journal entry posting. By enabling this integration, accounting and back-of-house teams can streamline financial reporting and eliminate manual bookkeeping directly within the Bridge portal.
This integration allows you to:
- Automatically synchronize daily sales, tax, tip, and payment data from Salido to QuickBooks Online
- Map Salido sales categories and payment methods directly to your QuickBooks Online Chart of Accounts
- Generate and post consolidated daily journal entries to ensure accurate and reconciled accounting records
Prerequisites: Enabling the QuickBooks Online integration requires an active QuickBooks account with administrator credentials. Users configuring the integration must also have a Bridge Role with edit permissions enabled for Integrations.
1. Navigate to the Settings section of the Bridge and click Integrations
2. Click the Marketplace tab to view available integration services
3. Click the QuickBooks integration tile
4. Click Enable This Integration
5. Select the target location from the Location drop-down menu
6. To enable daily synchronization with Quickbooks, slide the Enable Quickbooks Sync toggle to the active position
7. Click Connect to QuickBooks
8. Log in to your Intuit account and authorize the connection to link Salido and QuickBooks Online
9. Åfter mapping out your accounts in Quickbooks, return to the Bridge and click Configure QuickBooks to save the configuration settings
To accommodate different accounting preferences, the QuickBooks mapping page supports two distinct templates, which are accessed via the Settings cog icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard:
- Consolidated Mode: Maps daily sales categories, taxes, tips, gift card sales, and payment transactions at a whole-business-day level without daypart or revenue center dimensions.
- DayPart Mode: Breaks sales down granularly by combining alphabetically sorted Revenue Centers and ascending DayParts (e.g., Main Dining Room — Dinner) so that sales categories map directly to distinct ledger targets based on shift and location.
When assigning accounts from the mapping table, dropdown menus are fully searchable by both GL Code and Account Name to simplify configuration. The mapping tables are divided into four main types:
- Sales: Sourced from defined COGS Categories.
- Taxes: Shows all active tax rates expressed by Name and Rate concatenated (e.g., NY Sales Tax 8.875%).
- Liabilities: Dedicated entries for Tips and Gift Card Sales.
- Payments: Individual card brand breakout rows (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover) alongside all user-defined custom payment methods (e.g., TripleSeat, Blackbird, or House Accounts) to allow granular tracking of card processing fees and third-party liabilities.
Note on Mappings: The Bridge automatically detects updates made to your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online. If you add new accounts or if any mappings are incomplete, a Bridge dashboard notification will alert you that additional setup is required before daily journal entries can sync.
Scenario A: Granular DayPart and Revenue Center Mapping
An accountant wants to analyze sales performance with high precision. By selecting DayPart mode via the top-right Settings cog, the Bridge generates mapping rows combining each Revenue Center and DayPart (e.g., Main Dining Room — Dinner or Bar — Happy Hour). The accountant maps these specific POS Category rows directly to distinct sales revenue accounts in QuickBooks Online to analyze shifts and seating areas granularly.
Scenario B: Card Brand Tracking for Merchant Fee Audits
To simplify reconciling credit card merchant fees, the Bridge breaks out credit transactions individually by brand instead of grouping them. The merchant maps Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover transactions to their respective clearing accounts on the Chart of Accounts, allowing them to reconcile gross receipts against unique card-processing rates.
Scenario C: Automated Mapping for Custom Payment Tenders
A restaurant uses a third-party catering provider like TripleSeat and custom House Accounts. When these custom payments are defined in the Bridge, the mapping template automatically adds individual rows for TripleSeat and House Accounts under the Payments type. This allows daily journal entries to post these custom tenders to separate asset or receivable ledger accounts automatically without manual entry.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Operators are solely responsible for mapping and reconciling all financial accounts between Salido and QuickBooks Online. Salido is not responsible for the accuracy or configuration of account mappings. Verify all ledger, tax, and payment settings with a qualified accountant or bookkeeper before enabling daily synchronization.
