Custom integrations in Bridge allow merchants to connect third-party integrations using Personal Access Tokens (PATs). This centralized experience in the Bridge marketplace provides complete visibility into custom integrations, showing creator details, active statuses, and expiration dates.
Custom integrations allow you to:
- Authorize secure API connections to external platforms using Personal Access Tokens (PATs) with custom expiration durations.
- Control organizational visibility by assigning specific locations or all locations to an integration.
- Protect merchant security by toggling individual endpoint permissions on a per-integration basis.
- Invalidate compromised or legacy tokens immediately by revoking active integrations.
Custom Integrations Table Overview
The custom integrations dashboard provides a sortable, centralized list of all custom integrations created by the merchant. The table includes the following columns:
- Name: The custom name assigned to the integration.
- User: The email address or username of the account that created the integration.
- Status: The active status of the integration (e.g.,
active, expired, orrevokedin lowercase). - Expiration: The date the token is scheduled to expire, formatted as a three-letter month, day, and year (e.g., Jul 24, 2027).
- Locations: The number of locations assigned to the integration (e.g., ⓘ 1 locations). Hovering over this value displays a tooltip listing all assigned locations.
- Detail: Contains a vertical ellipsis menu ⋮ for row-level actions.
If no custom integrations have been created, the dashboard displays the following empty state message: You have no custom integrations. Click 'Add Integration' to begin.
To Create a Custom Integration
1. Expand the Settings menu in the sidebar and click Integrations
2. Click the Custom Integrations tab
3. Click + Add Integration in the upper-right corner of the page to open the configuration panel
4. In the About section, enter a descriptive name in the required Name * field to replace the default placeholder text New Custom Integration
5. Select the desired token duration from the required Expiration * dropdown menu. The default duration is 1 year
6. In the Locations section, assign location access to the integration. Toggle each location (e.g., Paul's Steakhouse) to the on position (orange switch with checkmark) or use the Select All toggle to assign all locations
7. In the Permissions section, toggle specific endpoint permission access to the on position (e.g., Read Menus, Read Timecards, Read Discounts) or use the Select All toggle to grant all permissions. These endpoints are dynamically populated based on current backend configurations and API metadata
8. In the Token section, click Generate key in the lower-right corner to generate a Personal Access Token (PAT). The PAT is displayed in a highlighted text field with an integrated copy button. Copy and secure this token immediately. Note that for security, the token is only displayed once and cannot be recovered after saving the integration
9. Click Save in the lower-right corner to persist all changes and activate the custom integration. Click Cancel to close the configuration panel without saving
To Edit a Custom Integration
1. Expand the Settings menu in the sidebar and click Integrations
2. Click the Custom Integrations tab
3. Click the row of the custom integration to modify. This opens the configuration panel
4. Modify the Name *, Expiration *, Locations toggles, and Permissions toggles as needed. Note that the original Personal Access Token (PAT) is hidden for security and cannot be displayed or retrieved
5. Click Save to apply the updates, or click Cancel to discard changes. Note that generating a new token is not supported on saved integrations; if a token is lost or compromised, you must revoke the existing integration and create a new one to generate a new key
To Revoke a Custom Integration
1. Expand the Settings menu in the sidebar and click Integrations
2. Click the Custom Integrations tab
3. Click the row of the custom integration to revoke
4. In the lower-left corner of the configuration panel, click Revoke token
5. Click Save in the lower-right corner to persist the status change. The integration's status in the table will update to revoked
