Salido provides essential flexibility at checkout by allowing you to process both split and partial payments. A split payment divides the total balance evenly among multiple guests. In contrast, a partial payment is used when a guest wishes to pay a specific, uneven amount of the total—such as covering their specific items plus a portion of a shared appetizer, or paying a part of the bill with cash and the rest on a card.
These features allow you to:

Easily accommodate any guest's payment preference, whether they are splitting the bill evenly or paying a custom partial amount.

Ensure accuracy and efficiency at the terminal when closing out large parties or handling complex payment scenarios.
To Accept a Partial Payment in the POS:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen for inactivity, enter your PIN and tap the check mark to log back into the POS terminal
2. Tap the action menu button in the top right to bring up the POS options
3. Tap the Check button to open the Check List View, or tap the Floor Plan button to open the Floor Plan View
4. Open the check that needs a partial payment applied:
- By tapping the check in the Checks List view
- Or, tapping the table with that check from the Tables view
5. Tap Pay to bring up the payment screen
NOTE: To receive payment on an order that has not yet been sent, tap the three dots next to the Send button and select Pay to bring up the payment interface
6. Tap Partial Payment
7. Enter the amount for the Partial Payment, then tap Next
8. Process the Partial Payment
From the Partial Payment screen, choose one of the following methods to apply the payment:

Credit/Debit Card: Follow the on-screen prompt to swipe, insert, or tap the guest's credit or debit card on the card reader

Manual Credit Card: Tap this button to key in the guest's credit card information manually

Gift Card: Swipe the physical gift card on the card reader, or tap the Gift Card Lookup button to enter the card number manually

Cash:

Tap the Cash button

On the "Custom Cash Amount" screen, use the keypad to enter the amount of cash the guest is paying

Tap Next

Other Payment Method:

Tap the Other button
-
From the "Other Payment Options" list, select the custom payment type you wish to use

On the "Enter Payment Value" screen, use the keypad to enter the amount being paid

Tap Next

To Accept Split Payments in the POS:

7. Split the payment into the desired number of parts, then tap Next
8. Process the Split Payment

9. Repeat Step 8 until all split payments have been processed.
