An Order Type is a classification label assigned to groups of similar checks within your business. This label categorizes how services and products are delivered to customers. In reporting, Order Types serve as distinct segments, allowing for more precise analysis and differentiation of revenue streams.
- Examples of Order Types include 'To Go,' 'Dine-In,' and 'Delivery.'
- Order Types are tailored with specific parameters to enhance service variations and maximize efficiency for staff.
To Create a New Order Type:
1. Navigate to Settings > Ordering in the Bridge and click on Order Types
2. Click + New Order Type to open the entry form
- Enter the required Name for the new order type
- Enter the Prep Time, or the required time needed to fulfill the order, in minutes. E.g., if the order should take no more than 10 minutes to make, enter 10
- Select the System Type from the drop-down menu, which defines the general category or method of service for the order. The options include Dine In, Delivery, and Take Out
- If the order requires a Delivery Address, check the Requires Delivery Address box
- If the order requires the customer to receive an alert when their order is ready, check the Requires Order Alert box
- If the order requires that a guest be present to place the order, check the Requires Guest box
- If the order can be scheduled for a later time or date, check the Can Be Scheduled box
3. Click Save to keep your changes
To Edit an Existing Order Type:
1. Navigate to Settings > Ordering in the Bridge and click on Order Types
2. Click the row of the Order Type you wish to edit
3. Repeat Steps 2A through 2G from Creating a New Order Type
4. Click Save to keep your changes
