Reporting Groups serve as the highest level of menu organization within the Salido Bridge, providing the foundation for financial roll-ups and high-level sales analysis. By grouping related Categories together, such as Food, Beer, or Wine, restaurant operators can track performance across broad segments of their business while maintaining granular control over individual menu items.
This feature allows you to:
- Organize Categories into logical financial segments for streamlined reporting.
- Ensure consistent data aggregation across multiple locations.
- Simplify the creation of new Categories by providing pre-defined reporting buckets.
Understanding Reporting Groups
Before configuring your menu, it is important to understand where Reporting Groups sit in the Salido hierarchy. Data flows from the bottom up:
- Menu Items: Individual products (e.g., "Cheeseburger").
- Categories: Groups of items (e.g., "Sandwiches").
- Reporting Groups: Groups of categories (e.g., "Food").
To Create a Reporting Group:
1. Navigate to the Menu section of the Bridge and select Categories
2. Click the Reporting Groups tab
3. Click + New Reporting Group in the top right corner
4. Enter the Name of the new group (e.g., Desserts)
5. Enter a Description for the group
6. Click Save to create the group
To Edit a Reporting Group:

If you attempt to delete a group with active associations, you will receive an error message: "Cannot delete this Cogs Category because it still has Reporting Category associations. Please remove associations and try again."
1. Navigate to the Menu section of the Bridge and select Categories
2. Click the Reporting Groups tab
3. Click the More Options icon (three vertical dots) on the right side of the row for the group you wish to remove and select Delete
4. Click the Confirm button on the pop-up modal to finalize the deletion
