This feature allows you to:
- View live sales summaries including Net Sales, Gross Sales, and Guest Counts.
- Visualize sales breakdowns by Product Category and Order Type.
- Monitor labor efficiency using Labor Cost percentages and Performance metrics.

Understanding the Product Mix Widget
The Product Mix widget on the Manager App dashboard provides a visual breakdown of your sales performance by category. This report helps you quickly identify your top-performing segments and analyze consumption trends without running a full report.
This feature allows you to:
- View a graphical representation of your Top 5 Sales Categories.
- Monitor the percentage contribution of each category to your total sales.
- Drill down into detailed reports to analyze specific menu item performance and sales trends.
The Widget View
The Product Mix widget sits on the main dashboard and offers a summary view of your sales data.
- Ring Chart: The color-coded chart visualizes your Top 5 Categories (e.g., Food, Beverage, Alcohol). The size of each section corresponds to its share of total sales.
- Category List: Below the chart, a list shows the top categories and their share of total sales. This enables quick identification of which segments drive the most revenue.
Viewing Detailed Reports
For a more granular analysis, you can expand the widget to view the full Product Mix report.
1. Locate the Product Mix widget on the dashboard
2. Tap the Expand icon (two arrows) in the top-right corner of the widget
Once expanded, the screen displays comprehensive data for sales categories and individual menu items. This detailed view calculates and displays sales trends, using comparison data to show performance changes as percentages. This helps identify whether sales for specific items are trending up or down compared to the selected previous period (e.g., Yesterday or Last Week).
Filtering Product Mix Data
The global dashboard filters control the data displayed in the Product Mix widget. To change the data set:
1. Tap the Filter icon (three lines) at the top of the dashboard
2. Adjust the Date Range or Comparison Period
3. Tap Save
The Product Mix chart and details will automatically update to reflect the new timeframe.
Understanding the Sales by Order Type Widget
The Sales by Order Type widget provides a breakdown of your revenue by order type, such as Dine In, Take Out, or Delivery. This helps managers quickly identify which Order Types drive the most volume without running a detailed report.
This feature allows you to:
- Visualize sales distribution by Order Type.
- Monitor performance trends for specific Order Types compared to previous periods.
- Switch views to analyze data by Percentage or Sales Value.
Toggling the Data View
The widget includes a toggle switch at the center of the ring chart that lets you adjust how the data is displayed.
- Percentage View (%): Displays the portion of total sales each Order Type represents. Use this to understand the relative popularity of your Order Types.
- Sales Value View ($): Displays the total gross sales for each Order Type. Use this to see the actual financial contribution of each Order Type.
To switch views, simply tap the Toggle Switch located in the center of the chart. The chart segments and the list below will immediately update to reflect the selected metric.
Visualizing Performance Changes
When a comparison period is selected in the Dashboard Filters, the system calculates the difference between the current data and the historical data. This variance is displayed as a percentage below the principal value for each widget.
Interpreting the Color Coding
The arrows and percentage values are color-coded based on the mathematical difference between the two periods.
- Green: Indicates the current value is greater than the value from the comparison date.
- Red: Indicates the current value is less than the value from the comparison date.
Note: The color coding indicates the direction of the volume, not necessarily a positive or negative business outcome. For example, a Green indicator on Labor Cost means labor costs have increased, while a Red indicator on Net Sales means revenue has decreased.
