Claiming a handheld device with a 12-digit code allows you to configure it for seamless integration with your location's operations. By generating the code in the Bridge and entering it on the handheld, you can ensure the device is properly linked and ready for use by your staff. This step is essential to setting up the handheld for processing transactions and providing excellent service on the go.
- Time-Sensitive Code: The 12-digit code is valid for 24 hours after generation. Be sure to claim the handheld within this timeframe.
- Persistent Provisioning: Once a handheld terminal is provisioned with a 12-digit code, it remains in that state unless another claim is initiated. This ensures consistent device association across your location.

To Log into the POS using the 12-digit code:
1. In the Bridge, navigate to the Hardware Menu and select Terminals
A manager must have access to the Bridge to generate a 12-digit code to log on to the POS. After the Manager enters the 12-digit code, employees can log in to the provisioned device with their PIN.
2. Select the appropriate Location from the drop-down menu to assign the Terminal to that specific location or view the terminals at this location
3. Use the search bar or scroll through the list to find the Terminal for the employee who needs the code
If a terminal has not been created yet, please follow the instructions for creating a new terminal at this link.
4. Click on the button for that terminal to generate the 12-digit code
5. Copy down the alphanumeric code
6. Return to the physical handheld device and tap inside the Device Code field to enter the 12-digit alphanumeric code
7. Enter the 12-digit code and tap Next
Potential errors/messages:
If you encounter an error or message, ensure the code is entered correctly without any leading or trailing spaces.
If you receive the "Device Claimed" message, another terminal has already claimed the device. Tap the Release button to continue and claim the terminal.
8. Employees can now log into the device using the PIN assigned to them in the Bridge under the Employee section of the Personnel menu
