Adding funds to a gift card in the POS is an essential function for businesses that offer gift cards to their customers. This process ensures that customers can continue to use their gift cards for future purchases while also allowing companies to maintain and track the balance on each card efficiently.

To Add Funds to a Gift Card in the POS:
1. If logged out to the PIN screen for inactivity, enter your PIN and tap to log back into the POS device
2. At the top right of the POS screen, tap to bring up the POS options
3. Tap the Check button to open the Check List View
4. Start a new check by tapping the + button in the bottom right, or open the check to which the Gift Card will be applicable by tapping it
5. While in the Check Screen, tap the three dots in the bottom left to open Check Options 6. Tap the Gift Card button to open the Gift Card functionality
7. Swipe any new or active Gift Card to check its balance
8. If the Gift Card has already been activated and has a balance, skip to Step 9. If the Gift Card has never been activated, the Activate Gift Card modal will appear. Enter the amount of funds to add to the Gift Card, then tap Add to Check, and skip to Step 10
The user will now see the Gift Card charge in the check details:
9. If the Gift Card has a balance, the user will see the Gift Card Balance screen. Tap Add Funds to add more funds to the card
Enter the amount of funds to add to the Gift Card, then tap Add to Check
The user will now see the Gift Card charge in the check details:
10. Tap Pay in the check details actions panel to bring up the pay screen
11. Process the payment for the check, then tap Close Check
Important: Funds will not be added to the Gift Card until the check is closed. Reopening or voiding the check will result in zero funds added to the Gift Card.
