Overtime policies monitor work schedules to ensure an employee's work time does not exceed a set number of hours in a day, hours in a week, or both. These rules provide oversight for labor distribution and assist in controlling operational costs. Utilizing overtime policies allows the Salido system to:
Establish thresholds for overtime based on daily or weekly hours worked.
Apply specific rules to individual Job Positions or across all roles.
Assign policies to a single Location or multiple Locations using Labor Groups.
Activate or deactivate specific rules to match changing business needs.
How to Create an Overtime Policy:
1. Navigate to the Staff section in the Bridge and click on Labor Policy
2. Click + New Overtime Policy
3. Enter a Policy Name for the new overtime policy, e.g., "Server Overtime Policy"
4. Select at least one Location or multiple locations using a location group to apply the Overtime Policy
To streamline efficiency, Salido has a built-in function to allow groups to be created or edited within this setting:
New Labor Group
- To add a new labor group, click + New Labor Group
- Name your new labor group
- Select the locations to include in this labor group
- Click Save
Edit Labor Group
- Once a labor group has been created, it can be edited by clicking Edit Labor Group
- Select the labor group to edit from the dropdown menu
- Edit the name of the group
- Manage the locations in the group by selecting or unselecting the individual properties
- Click Save
5. Select whether or not this policy will be active by sliding the toggle switch
6. Select which Job Position(s) the policy applies to, or click "Select All" to apply the new Overtime Policy to all jobs
7. Enter the Hours Per Day, the Hours Per Week, or both to set the threshold for employee overtime. At least one of these thresholds is required to create a new policy
8. Save your new policy by clicking Save in the bottom right-hand corner
Note: There can only be one active overtime rule per location and position.
